Gender Neutral Toilets

Writer: The YSIThe YSI

Conference affirms the right to equal treatment for all citizens regardless of their gender identity with freedom from discrimination.

Conference calls on the Scottish Government to require the creation of gender neutral toilets in all non-domestic properties as part of regulations for future buildings, except where this would demonstrably interfere with the legitimate functioning of these buildings. This exemption applies in full to all religious institutions.

Conference further calls for monies to be made available to enable conversion of male/ female toilets into gender neutral toilets in existing non-domestic properties, except those covered by the exemptions stated in this motion, by 2021 as far as is practical.
